Common Questions Is the cord between the transmitter unit and meat probe protected somehow? Yes. It is covered in a fire-proof protective metal mesh. Can this be used for cooking in the oven? It is not recommended for use in the oven, it is designed for gas and charcoal grill use. Are the transmitter and probe rain proof? The transmitter and probe are water resistant and sealed against moisture, although we do recommend using common sense and not leaving it outside in a downpour.
